Tension will even out eventually, especially after good blocking. I'm not sure I can comment on the tension issue, I'm self taught so don't even know how I knit and I'm very naughty and never do gauge swatches so don't even know how my tension is! Either way all your cloths look fab.Lucy Bowenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4180424865669168363.post-20464310213927688952017-03-06T15:03:05.282-05:002017-03-06T15:03:05.282-05:00Love love love your inspiring box of dish-cloths. ...Love love love your inspiring box of dish-cloths. What a delight it would be to open up a box and see these colourful treasures.
Sorry I have no ideas/suggestions on the different techniques of knitting because I only knit English style, and very poorly too. I prefer crochet.Cyrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17238529292232175195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4180424865669168363.post-75970911949370530052017-03-06T09:48:06.102-05:002017-03-06T09:48:06.102-05:00I love all your pretty dish cloths and I did not n...I love all your pretty dish cloths and I did not notice any difference in your English vs Continental...maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet but I thought they both looked good. I love your variegated/hand dyed cotton yarn you use...so pretty. I've never tried HL's cotton yarn. I knit English. I've been wanting to try the Portugese method and Stefanie just took a class in that.
I think you should start a "Box of Cloths" KAL/CAL like the Box of Socks one. I knit English - I do knit Continental when I am doing fairisle. I think my tension is the same in both but I would have to try your test to know for sure.
Great collection of dishcloths and great gift ideas. I remember after I broke my arm a few years ago I resumed knitting by making many dishcloths. They sure came in handy when Christmas rolled around that year!Breathing Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02482981001235740285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4180424865669168363.post-1057183688472667652017-03-05T19:52:26.678-05:002017-03-05T19:52:26.678-05:00lovely patterns here! lovely patterns here! elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00962587884124992942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4180424865669168363.post-37733739786391781282017-03-05T17:28:59.808-05:002017-03-05T17:28:59.808-05:00Oh wow, what a fun collection of dishcloths you ha...Oh wow, what a fun collection of dishcloths you have. I only throw when I'm knitting with two colors; I am tighter with that style of knitting. With Continental, the style I learned from the gecko, I can be a little inconsistent. I found with metal needles I knit more even. But right now I'm trying to get more experienced knitting the Portuguese style as it's more ergonomic for my hands.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
