I'm 59 - the last year of my 60th decade 'cuz when I turn 60, that will be the first day of my 70th decade (like the day you're born is the beginning of your 1st decade. Make sense? When I have to explain it looses something - kinda like a joke does. Ah well... as long as the joke's not on me. :) Thanks for your kind, relatable words, Sam!Beckihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16940604077427078249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4180424865669168363.post-76502454841531827402018-04-24T16:04:56.649-04:002018-04-24T16:04:56.649-04:00Thank you so much, Pat. :)Thank you so much, Pat. :)Beckihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16940604077427078249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4180424865669168363.post-44400649559768985042018-04-22T20:04:55.685-04:002018-04-22T20:04:55.685-04:00Thank you so sharing such an inspiring post. SO, I'm confused are you 59 or 60? LOL! I think we all feel young and you've expressed many common ailments and feelings. Everytime I 'groan' getting up or trying to....I tell myself out loud to stop it as I sound like an old person! LOL! I have done it enough that I don't groan anymore...it still hurts and it isn't any easier but I refuse to groan. I also stopped bending at the knees to pick things up. I bend at the waist now and I've tried to notice those little things that make us feel older than we are and that sneak up on us when we're not looking. I can't remember the last time I laid on my stomach to read a book and yet, like you, I used to do it all the time....when did it stop? Old age sneaks up on you so watch out! I hope you have a wonderful birthday and remember the older you are the longer you celebrate! Have a great day and a great year!!! I agree that age...Happy Birth Day wishes to you!!! I agree that age is only a number and most of the time (body notwithstanding!) I simply can't believe my age number. Sounds like your plans for your coming year are good ones too. Reading the bible is a wonderful thing - I've lost track of how many times I've read it cover to cover and I discover so many new aspects every single time. A suggestion re the pictures of the same spot - how about making a note on your calendar for a specific date each month and that will remind you? You don't look your age you spring chicken ;) I think the idea of taking a photo of the same spot each day is a great one on so many levels...first to see the change, but also to get you out and walking each day! I don't know about you, but I'm certainly more at ease when I've spent some solitary time in Nature. It's my spirituality, my therapy...I was nodding as you explained the creaks and cracks of an older body moving about lol...I'm very happy at my age, 50, and honestly? I think the best is yet to come!!! :)Rain https://www.blogger.com/profile/14377719049819222133noreply@blogger.com
