Seeing that a number of soft peaches had fallen to the ground over the last day or so, I picked these today before they got soft enough to eat. I'm going to try to fully ripen them on the counter and I can't wait to taste them. Hopefully, they're good, and we'll be motivated to be better prepared for these next year. I'm so wanting to make a peach cobbler.
Thanks, Vee! Except for being cropped just a bit (and resized for posting here), the photo hasn't been altered. After trying to take this shot in three different locations, I was reminded that pictures taken outdoors (or with light coming in windows) produces the best pictures.
Those peaches look wonderful! Wonder how much they're going to be here this year. Bought a small bag of fresh cherries and nearly keeled over when I saw the price was over $16. Won't be buying any more which makes me sad because they're my favourite.
Wow - that price for cherries is crazy. Peaches have been on sale here off and on for several weeks at 99 cents a pound. That seems really reasonable to me. I bought a few pounds a few weeks ago and froze them. That was before we realized we had a peach tree. It's kind of killing me to bypass the sales right now, as I hope the free peaches off our own tree will be good if I just get out there and pick them before they fall, or get eaten by something. It will be a big disappointment if they're not tasty.
Peaches!!!! I smell pies and cobblers and preserves and.....well you get the idea.

DeleteVery nice photo
ReplyDeleteThank you, May.
DeleteLovely fruit. No cherries locally this year, so I ordered from misfits, A lot less than that Canadian price though. Peaches are just starting here.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz. The fruit seems to be getting larger (on the tree) with each day. I'm pretty excited for this all to ripen and taste it.
DeleteThere is definitely some real life art here!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cheryl!
DeleteHow wonderful!!! Yum....although I am still on a liquid diet...a girl can dream! But I have lost 10 pounds so that's something.
ReplyDeleteYou lost weight the hard way, friend. I hope you're getting better each day, Sam.
DeleteThat is beautiful. There is nothing like summer produce.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mrs. T. Fresh summer produce just makes the heart glad.
