Indeed, Marsha. The wind was a bit howly today, but by evening it calmed down and was very serene. It continues to snow, though, and by midnight the snow out front had aready accumulated to the bottom of our front door. It will be interesting to see what we wake up to in the morning.
Alissa, we feel very fortunate that we can stay home and off the slick roads - though, by the next day, the ploughs had cleared our road (meaning we can see clear blacktop), and I imagine all the main roads in town are clear, too.
We're snow covered here too and I'm about to head out to pick up our groceries. Dreading having to clean the car off and facing the cold. I'm SO not a winter person!
Sandy, I understand this cold weather system was wide and long. It's interesting that we got more snow than our northern neighbors this time. One son who's 3 hours north of us (and right on the Michigan/Indiana border) got just a skiff of snow out of this.
Ah, how serene and quiet the world becomes when the snow covers the earth. Stay warm and safe, Becki.

DeleteI love the snow, but we are lucky not to have to go anywhere. Stay safe and warm!

ReplyDeleteMary Anne, nothing much could have made me get out on the roads yesterday. Fortunately, here the roads are clear today.
DeleteOh goodness Becki! I forgot you were out in the middle of that. Best of luck and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteThanks, TB. Safe and dry here! :)
DeleteNo snow here in New Hampshire but it is very cold. About 12 degrees, but the wind is 13 mph so it feels like zero! Stay safe, cozy and warm, Becki!
ReplyDeleteBrrrr... that's frigid, Mrs. T. It was in the 20's here today. At first it didn't feel bad, but eventually, the wind made it pretty uncomfortable.
DeleteIt is beautiful, especially if you don't have to drive in it! We got a few flakes and that's about it. Very cold for these parts, though.
ReplyDeleteBob, it is beautiful - especially, from inside a toasty house. ;^)
DeleteIt is really pretty. It is even cold in north Florida.
