Quiet moments...

We kept the grand cats last weekend and were easily humored watching them do nothing much at all.

On Tuesday, the day the cats left we enjoyed the company of out-of-state cousins visiting until the wee hours of the next morning.  After the cats and cousins left (separately, in two different directions) I was inspired to do some spring cleaning of the sunroom - vacuuming up cobwebs and cat hair.

And set up a spot to enjoy cross stitching and a view of the outdoors.

I'm going to make it a (loose) goal to spend some time out here stitching or doing something creative every day I can this spring -  when it is nice enough to do so.  With the sun shining in the windows, it's comfy out here once it's in the high 50's outside.  And I suppose a space heater might heat up this corner when it's cooler than that.

And in a week or so, this Bradford Pear (below with the small white blossoms) will be a sight to behold when I want to sit back and take a stretch from stitching.

I'm feeling very thankful for spring,
and for a pretty spot to experience it again.

How is spring looking where you're at?

  1. What a beautiful space to work on stitching. The view is perfect for quiet time. Your grand cats are so cute. They didn't seem to mind being at your place.

    1. We used this room last spring and summer, but I didn't really do anything to make it pretty. I think that will be a goal of mine over the next few months. Nothing grand or expensive. Maybe just some plants will elevate the whole space.

  2. Spring is cold, frosts, but blossoming trees are out. I hope the blossoms survive.

    1. That is always the way it is with spring, isn't it. We look forward to all the beautiful tree blossoms, but they are so fragile and short lived. I guess that's what makes the beautiful spring scenery so precious.

  3. The cats are beautiful! Your sunny room is just lovely. And the view of the tree-how inspiring. Spring is stirring here, but very slowly. It's cold! But next week we have a day coming that will be 70 degrees! Yahoo!

    1. We're supposed to chill off again after a storm tonight, but I think it's supposed to be in the 50's and 60's again next week. These are my perfect temps.

    1. It's a nice spot, and it deserves a bit more attention, I think. :)

  6. What a pretty sunny place to sew! In upstate NY we still have patches of snow on the ground. Even though the sun shines, it's chilly outdoors.

    1. We're having a pleasant cool period this week (through Easter) and I'm enjoying it. I starts to heat up into the 70's late next week, and I'm just not ready.

    1. Funny... the day after I wrote this post, the weather turned dark and rainy, and then we lost power, and now that power is restored it's kind of too chilly to sit out there, AND, one of my sisters made a surprise (to me) visit here for several days, making me not to want to have my nose in needlework... So my loose plans of spending some time out there every day this month is already blown. Fortunately there will be more nice days to come, and having the space set up should make it easy to work out there once I'm truly more able to.
