A sweetheart of a blanket...

A short and sweet post this week
to show my finished Sweet Heart Blanket:
I love how when the blanket is stretched a bit
the shell stitches look like columns of hearts.

Sort of.
What do you think?

At any rate, I'm please enough with how it turned out, and I'm super glad to be finished  - and to be finished second guessing my color selections!

In case anyone is remotely curious about the pattern, it was found in an old book I own called Weekend Afghans.  The pattern name is Corn on the Cob (because it was originally done in a bright yellow).

But I like Sweet Heart Blanket much better.   ðŸ˜Š

This picture shows all six colors.
(The lightest pink doesn't show in the first picture above.)

And now... on to other projects!
To see what other YOPers are up to,

  1. Love it! The colors are perfect. They flow into each other quite well. I had that afghan book but gave it away a few weeks ago. Not much need for afghans here lol.

    1. Thank you, Marsha. Afghans and blankets are among my favorite projects, and books with blanket patterns I find the hardest to get rid of. :)

  2. I can definitely see the hearts now and think it’s lovely. I am puzzled by the book title...is that supposed to suggest you could make that in one weekend?

    1. Yeah, the title of the book is a bit misleading. I've worked two patterns in the book and I can say they are easy and fairly quick. But could they be finished in a weekend? Not likely. And half of the patterns are knit! I'm glad you can see the hearts. I'm sure the pink color helps. :)

  3. I definitely see the hearts. One wonders how it would ever be named 'Corn on the Cob' because it certainly doesn't look like corn even if it WAS done in yellow!

    1. I know! While the pattern was turned upside down (from the way it appears above), even in yellow I saw hearts! :)

  4. I love how it turned out Becki and I can really see the hearts even more now that it's blocked and stretched out. I think the colours used suit the pattern and it's easier for me to see SweetHeart with the colours and the hearts than to see Corn on the Cob in yellow, that is something I'm afraid I'm struggling to see. Just goes to show how colour can play such a difference in a pattern.
