Chevron Pillow Finished!

While I've finished a few dishcloths in the last couple of weeks, I'm counting this chevron pillow as my first official YOP5 finished project.

I like it, but frankly I'm really glad to have it done.  Working on this gave my fingers a workout.   It's all single crochet, so the fabric is on the tight side.  And all those ends!!!  I think my fingers ache as much from sewing in all those ends as they do from the crocheting.

But I'm done!  And that makes me happy.  After I give my fingers a break, I'm going to try to knock out my shawl I started a month ago and promptly set aside.

Later today we're looking forward to having our three sons here.  Their company will be very welcome as the husband is still recovering from foot surgery and he's pretty limited in what he can do and where he can go.  He's grown bit glum about it all.  I can't blame him. He has to keep his foot elevated most of the time, and it hurts to walk, anyway.    We'll enjoy some Lasagna and then some games.  Middle son is bringing Settlers of Catan.   My current favorite game is Ticket to Ride, but we've had a request to play Settlers...so I guess I'm going to be giving it a go this time.

Do you have a favorite family game?  If you have adult kids, what do you like to do when you're all together?

  1. Well done on the finish and it's a really pretty pillow but I hear you on the tight fabric and ends. Looking forward to seeing more on that shawl, your yarn looks lovely that your using for it. Enjoy the visit today from your sons, it's no fun being limited with a foot injury and I know having had months and months of it last winter. Ruth.

  3. We're a Trivial Pursuit kind of family. Aren't family games nights great? The chevron pillow looks awesome but I can completely understand the finger ache. I was just eyeing the last of the dishcloth cotton in my stash but my fingers vetoed any thoughts of that!!

    1. My fingers were back to normal by yesterday evening, so after everyone left I was already itching to get to work on my shawl.

  4. It must have been hard going, but the pillow is gorgeous, looking forward to seeing your shawl. We love family games, but mine are little, so it's frustration and hungry hippos!!

    1. Thanks, Mona. The Lasagna was great! And yes, we had fun. It's so go to hear one's adult children laughing and having fun together. It does the soul good.

  6. Your chevron pillow came out fantastic. I really love it. Our favorite game here is King of Tokyo which is fun for kids and adults as everyone has a different strategy.

    1. Thanks, Ann! I had to look up King of Tokyo (I'd never heard of it) and I'm pretty confident our sons would have enjoyed that rousing game, too!

  7. Love, love, love the pillow. Give your fingers a rest now for a few days. We have several games we like to play, Apples to Apples, Querkle, and electronic Monopoly. As well as a few card games too. Enjoy your visit from your children.

  9. I knew I loved the colors when you started but it's really turned into a great finish. The chevrons really give it personality.
What a nice personal touch to your living room!
