30 days to less - day 16

Going through MIL & FIL's pictures, Hubs emptied numerous photo albums.  Not sure how many people get prints made of photos these days and if there's even a market for this kind of thing at thrift shops, but someplace is going to be getting these 16 photo albums - tomorrow, hopefully.

Day 16:  164 things gone

  1. Fantastic. I am sure there are still people out there that do photo albums.

  2. I could relieve you of a few of them - I still use them because I print pictures of our grandkids all the time. I always worry that the kids phones will lose everything they have stored on there and the pictures will be lost. At least when they inherit the albums I'll be gone and won't know (or obviously care) if they throw them out...but maybe, just maybe, they'll be grateful I kept them.

    1. I think they will - be grateful that you made prints. Going through MIL & FIL's photos we have been delighted to find pictures of our own kids that they took and we'd never seen before. If we uncover some with larger photo sleeves I may keep those as I have a few years of photos stored in boxes I never did put into albums. And I, too, sometimes worry about all the digital pictures getting lost.

  3. They might be of interest to people who make altered books. So I'd say there's a future for them.

    1. Leave it to you to come up with an alternative use. I had imagined them as recipe holders, but altered books hadn't come to mind. Kinda of wish you hadn't put that idea into my head. (chuckling)

    2. Spot on! We use them for recipes too (forgot about that).

  4. I still print photos but I have big albums. This definitely made me nostalgic because I can remember my mom and mother-in-law with one in their purse of the grandkids.

    1. We have lots of albums on the top shelf of our closet, and I have a few years worth of pictures in several photo boxes. But I haven't printed out pictures regularly since going digital. I keep telling myself to get some of them printed - so we're keeping back a few albums for that purpose. ;^)

  5. Nice photo albums like yours, I believe, will sell fast. When I use to go to the local thrift stores, I rarely found photo albums.

  6. It's amazing how photo albums have accumulated in the past.
